Sorry for the slow posting of blogs on my side recently! Have been in LA/Orange County, staying with my cousin. Weather has been 'hella' beautiful alhamdulilah :) but sadly leaving to come back home in 2 days. Love the vibe in Cali – it’s so laidback and a nice change from the craziness of London town.
I’ve been here a few times before, so haven’t done so much of the touristy things this time around. We did manage to catch the Lakers-Bulls basketball game on Christmas Day though, which was awesome! Also went to Venice Beach (the beach version of Camden, for those of you who live in London!), Laguna Beach and hit up some of the typical American food spots like The Cheesecake Factory.
The rest of the time has been chilling with family down in Orange County and catching up with friends who live in LA. One of my friends has a bike and two things I love are speed and great views – got both of them riding over the canyons towards Malibu!
One thing I posted about briefly on the FB wall was how the Muslim community here is so different to what I’m used to seeing. Next week when I get home I will write a blog about this because I think it’s an important point to make and I want to share some of the things I’ve seen being out here.
