First of all I would just like to say a massive ‘Eid Mubarak’ to all those celebrating :-)
May Allah (swt) bless you all on such a beautiful occasion.
Today’s blog is about a typical Eid day for me…
On Eid, I wake up to ‘bukhoor’ my home. Buhoor is basically an inscent burner and can completely transform your home. You literally smoke your house out with the beautiful smell and it stays scented for hours. I tend to try to do this on Jumaah, special events, Ramadan and Eid (or whenever I can, I can never get enough of it! I truly recommend everyone to have one at home)
Today I spent all day with the family at home, just basically chilling out and enjoying each others company. I always find these days priceless and we really do have a great time! Especially now I am blessed with a stunning 2 year old nephew to play toys with.
What I wore?
The best part about Eid is dolling up with my sisters to stay at home all day... lol :-)
What we tend to wear on Eid are Arabic dresses, also known as fustanah/dihr/Jilabia.
This Eid I rocked out a Moroccan dress. I am blessed with a beautiful Moroccan sister in law who grants me easy access to these stunning dresses. I find Arabic dresses very easy to team up with a hijab, the one I wore was a Moroccan beige and gold dress (see image), which I teamed up with 2 Hijabs, beige and gold.
Moroccan dresses are also spot on for weddings too, you can get them in so many different designs and fabrics and they come with belts to pull in a shape for you if you wish. The other images are of my sister in law at 2 wedding events in Morocco.
I tend to get my dresses from either Morocco or South France, but I know places such as London do have amazing shops too.
